Apply for membership online here.
You must have a unique e-mail address. (Everyone who owns or is employed by the same business must have their own e-mail address.) Payment of dues will be processed by PayPal. During the application process you will be able to add a logo to the Member Directory and several photographs if you like. Please e-mail the Web Site Administrator if you have difficulty optimizing, resizing, or uploading your images.

If you are applying for Active, Associate, or Participating memberships, enter the NAME OF YOUR BUSINESS in the Title field. For all other memberships, enter your LAST NAME in the Title field.

Be sure to click on the checkboxes for both the desired membership category AND the authorization for dues payment (a total of two checkboxes).

At the bottom of the form, please select the categories (membership, Maine Region, and certifications) for listing yourself in the online directory.

You may upload your logo if it does not exceed 300 kilobytes. Recommended size is between 120 and 150 pixels in width. Photographs for your online photo gallery should be 500px or less in width. (Upload may also be done at a later time.) All fields with * are required.

As soon as application information and dues are recieved, you will be added to the online MELNA Member Directory. If you supplied an e-mail address you will be able to login and view members-only pages, edit your contact information, and change/add photographs to your own online gallery.

Levels of Membership:

Active Member (Voting Member) $125.00

Active membership shall be limited to Maine companies and MELNA Certified Professionals whose majority of income is derived from the production, sale, servicing, or handling of nursery stock or in combination with associated items. The company shall have been in good standing with the trade for at least two years prior to application. All classes of membership shall become active upon meeting the requirements for active membership.


Associate Member $65.00

Maine companies whose majority of income is derived from the production, sale, servicing, or handling of nursery stock or in combination with associated items BUT DO NOT qualify for active membership.


Affiliate Member $25.00

Individuals employed by an active, associate, or participating member.


Participating Member $125.00

Businesses in related fields and out-of-state nursery operations.


Contributing Member $25.00

Persons engaged in teaching, research, or affiliated with a government agency in the field of horticulture or related profession who contribute time and knowledge to the profession. A MELNA Certified Professional that does not qualify under any other category.


Student Member $10.00

Students in training in the field of horticulture. Membership ceases upon departure from full time status.

Active Members hold the right to vote; all members shall be permitted to attend meetings of the Association, whether executive committee, special or annual and shall be accorded all privileges and obligations of membership. Dues are due and payable annually on November 1st. If you join after September 1, your dues will cover your membership for the following year. If renewing, after November 30th your information will no longer be visible on the website until your renewal is paid.
